I lift my eyes up to the hills!

Well, I haven't written a blog post for quite some time, and I suppose the last few haven't sounded very enthusiastic. Fortunately, things have begun to change for the better. I'm currently riding about 250-270 miles/week. This past week alone, I completed two centuries with 6 days. Another first with my new hip!

Yesterdays' century, was a fundraiser for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. Not only did we have perfect weather, but the route took us through the beautiful landscape of the the Kettle Moraine Southern Unit. It's been over 20 years since I've ridden in this area, so it was like a home-coming for me. I started the ride feeling a bit weak, as is often the case. But almost like clockwork, as the first hour or so went by, my mind and my body fell into sync with the task at hand, and my strength began to return. Much of the ride was ridden with my friend, Tom Lais, who agreed with me on how beautiful the ride was.

"I lift my eyes up to the hills - where does my strength come from?
My strength comes from the LORD , the Maker of heaven and earth."
(Psalm 121:1,2)
